Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Dr. Desmond Fernandes

Would it be smart then to do some suctioning directly after beedling so that we can get the benefit of the blood?

Thank you for your compliments.  Regarding your questions

-Did your pores get smaller because you: single needled/dermastamped them?
Honestly I dont think my pore size has changed.  I think now since it's winter, my skin is less oily, thus temporarily decreasing the size of my pores.  However I do roll over them and stamp them thoroughly so it could be in fact that THAT's what it is.  I also think there was some pigmentation there, which cleared up with my light chemical peels.  Search the forums for information regarding peels.  I'd say that if you're interested in doing THAT, then do lots and lots of research and start off with weaker peels such as Glycolic Acid (if you have dry-normal skin) or Salycic Acid (Oily Skin like Me) and then work your way up to LOW PERCENTAGE TCA (I haven't gone above 15%)  I think this has helped a lot also and enhances the dermarolling.

-Do you still suction your scars? -Do you suction the whole of your face, or just particular scarring?
Yes I still suction my scars and I usually do everything except my forehead except a few spots as my forehead, for the most part, is indent-free.  However, I haven't been very consistent with the suctioning mostly because sometimes it leaves light bruising and I work in an office where I can't walk around like that.  However I do Roll and stamp thoroughly.  I roll my entire face and then stamp my entire face.  I think this amount of "trauma" to my face is what has helped me get to the point that I'm at now.  What I also do, which Sarah DOES NOT suggest, is put Retin-A on my face DIRECTLY after dermarolling.  Because I like the effect that chemical peels gives my skin, it's sorta like a 2 for 1.  I get to dermaroll my skin AND get a chemical peel.  I dermarolled on Tuesday and my skin is started peeling yesterday (Thursday) lightly.  I honestly think that THAT has helped tremendously, the combination of the two.  Some people on the forums report that there is too much stinging when placing Retin-A after dermarolling but it doesn't sting me AT ALL.  My skin feels however it normally feels after dermarolling.  I think it's helped the texture of my skin a lot. I'm nowhere near satisfied though.  I expect even great results in mid-late 2013.  However I think I've reached a turning point in my skin where I've noticed that more recently, my skin has really been healing well, frown lines have been "pushed out", skin tone is pretty even, etc.  I plan on doing it forever (maybe not the 2.0mm but maybe a 1.5 or 1.0 after scarring has filled in) just to maintain a wrinkle free face.  I figure I started young (I'm 28 years old) so I might as well keep it up.

If you've only been doing it for 2 months, it'll be a while before you start seeing significant results, depending on what you are treating but don't give up

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Dermaroller + TCA 5 weeks apart?
« on: August 03, 2012, 03:07:56 AM »
So if a person has dermaroling sessions 5 weeks apart, at week 2 or 3 after the session, can they apply a 15% TCA peel?  I actualy have some peels that I purchased before I heard about Dermarolling and I'd like to try it out to "Clean Up" my face while the Collagen fills in acne scars in the long run.  Also, how long after the TCA peel is it suitable to resume Retin A, if at all?

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Evenly Spread Acne Scars

Thank you for your gracious compliment.  I just have one more question.  Because of the large spread of scars throughout my face, do you think it's okay if instead of applying Infadolin (which I have) after roling that I instead place Retin-A?  I can even apply retin A under the Infadolin.  I don't mind the stinging for hours.  When I first started rolling, I bought a facial lotion that had vitamin C in it and that stung for hours so I am aware of whats in store for me. I've also started using a 0.5 Dermaroller twice a week, in between the 6 week 2.0mm rolling sessions.  Is that okay?

Note by Admin: We switched to a new forum and this posting, with the below picture that we edited with text, dropped during the migration:

"Thank you Sarah. I've started Rolling 4 months ago and can already see a difference. Below are 4 month progress pictures before and after"

Thank you for all of your help.  I've been suctioning for the past two days and I absolutely love the plumpness of my skin afterwards.  When I woke up this morning I was in sort of a shock at the way my skin looked.  I am very optimstic about it.  Also, I just purchased some single needles from your webstore and I wanted to know if you think it's worth needling all the ice pick scars close to my nose in the above picture?  I'm not even sure if they are ice pick scars or enlarged pores. I also purchased retin A from your webshop.  I am very excited about everything.

Thank you for responding.  I actually just received my Vaculifter today.  I ordered the Large One so I'm not sure if maybe I shoulda ordered the small one.  The Suction is pretty strong on it so I'm staying optimistic about it.  Thank you for your feedback.

Thank you for your response.  I haven't smoked in a couple of weeks and I've just purchased some facial cupping products for the suctioning which I am very enthusiastic about, especially after reading your forum thread on suctioning.  Would you recommend that instead of the dermaroller, that I use my 2.0 dermastamp all over my face?  I know it will be a much longer process but I actually prefer the dermastamp over the roller.  I find it much less uncomfortable stamping and definitely less painful.  I will post pics and post more about my suctioning products when it arrives. Thank you again for your help..lol

Thank you for your advice.  How long have you been using the suction technique?

I went ahead and bought a cupping prodcet from www.massagecupping.com for about 40 bucks

If this site however at some point in the future desides to seel something affordable I will gladly rather purchase something recommended by this site *hint*

The wine vacuum pump was suggested by another member, Arachne.  I purchased one from a local wine shop.  It was approximately $12.00.  I am not familiar with the Vaculifter-I will have to search that.

I went ahead and resumed with the suction today (with the wine vacuum) being that the redness has subsided and this was my biggest concern.  I was afraid I may be breaking capillaries.  I don't even know if that is possible!  I am also just suctioning one scar instead of several.  I'm remaining optimistic and patient.

Where are people buying these suction tools from?  I have really bad rolling scars and I am desparate for some help. Do you think the suction method would help me?  Has anyone tried the Vaculifter?  I'm considering buying one.  It's the only kind of Suction device I can find online that's intended for the face.

Hi Sarah,

I am a 28 year old Hispanic Male who has several acne scars from my teenage years of severe acne...My Acne is under control right now and has been for the past 6 years (except for blackheads on my nose).  I've been using a 2.0 dermaroller with Emla cream for three sessions already (5 weeks apart between sessions).  For the first session, I had no pre-treatment or after care (for example infadolin, Vit C, Copper Peptide).  after the second session, I used Infadolin for two days (as my skin is oily) and copper peptides.  I just did my third session  and I used the Vitamin C serum that I made from your webshop for three days, rolled with my 2.0 dermaroller and used my 2.0 dermastamp on deep wrinkles and deep scars. and afterwards applied the copper peptide mask and about half an hour later, applied infadolin.  Pretty much my face is evenly distributed when it comes to acne scars, to the point where my skin even looks scaly like a snake.

For the first two sessions, i was smoking heavily but I stopped smoking two weeks prior to this third dermarolling session to see if that made a difference.  I haven' noticed much of a difference (except more even skin tone) and I dont know if there's anything else that I should be doing  I take Vitamin C orally every day now for the past couple of weeks in hope that it will help.

Although I have very oily skin, I don't have much acne (besides Blackheads).  How long should I use the infadolin after the dermaroller?  2 days? 4? 6? More?

Does smoking have a direct relation with the dermarolling? I've read somewhere that it can slow down the healing process.  Is there anything else you'd suggest? Or should I continue waiting for good results? Thank you.
