Dermarolling / Microneedling / Disinfecting DermaJet Needles..
« on: August 26, 2013, 09:51:28 PM »
Hi Sarah, sorry to bother you but I have a quick question about disinfecting the DermaJet needles.

After I've soaked the cartridge in alcohol, it is quite a pain to get all the alcohol out, because it gets caught between the actual piece with the needles and the casing (hope I explained that right) and it kind of spits alcohol when turned on.  I turn it on for a bit before using it to get the most out that I can, but I haven't been able to get it out completely.

So, my question is... would it be okay to used even if the cartridge is not completely dry from the alcohol?  I know that we can put alcohol on cuts and stuff, but I was still wondering if it was okay for the needles to penetrate the skin while the cartridge is still spilling some alcohol.

If not, what is the best was to dry it out completely?

Thanks so much for your time and help.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / DermaJet for Acne Scarring
« on: June 18, 2013, 01:14:07 PM »
Hi Sarah, I ordered a DermaJet and I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival!

I am going to be using it on my face for acne scarring.  I just have a few questions.

1. My scars are mostly small "pinprick" type scars.  I have read that single needling in the most effective for scars of this tyep, but the fact is that I just can't realistically needle them all, mainly because I can't see all of them at the angle that I'd need to look at myself when needling.  This is why I got the DermaJet.  For the scars that I can single needle, should I do so instead of using the DJ, or would the DJ be as effective since it's an up and down motion?  Or should I single needle before using DJ?

2. I imagine that the DJ is going to give me a more thorough treatment compared to when I roll myself?  Do I still start by using it on a 1.5mm setting, or is that too deep to start on the face (cheek area)?

Thank you very much for your help.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Re: Blood in Dermastamp - How to Clean?
« on: February 12, 2013, 05:44:52 PM »
Thank you very much for your reply.  I had not seen that warning when I ordered my stamp and I did not think to look back on your sales page for an answer, sorry about that.

I had tried rinsing it under the tap (needles up) several times, and this didn't clear all the blood out.  I just tried something else that worked like a charm, so I thought that I'd share it here.

I took a plant mister and set it to spray a small, tight stream of water.  I then sprayed the stamp while holding it needles side up.  This cleaned it out completely in a matter of seconds.

Have a good night.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Blood in Dermastamp - How to Clean?
« on: February 12, 2013, 03:48:54 PM »
Hi Sarah, I just used my 1.5mm dermastamp + roller today.  While using the stamp, certain areas of my face seem to bleed more than others.  Blood has actually traveled up the holes in which the needles are fixed.  I have run it under water several time and have been soaking it for over 2 hours now, and there is still some blood inside.   Is there a trick to clean it out?

While I am posting, I would also like some advice on the correct thing to do when there is a pool of blood on the face.  When I stamp my scars, I bleed more in some areas, even after 2 or 3 "pokes".  Today, I had a blood spot about 1.5-2 cm diameter. What do I do when this happens?  Do I have to wipe it off before continuing to stamp/roll or do I just leave it?  Today I just left it because I was not sure what to do.

Thanks.

Dermarolling / Microneedling / Using Different Sized Rollers?
« on: December 23, 2012, 12:13:57 AM »
Hi Mrs Vaughter,

I have a question regarding the use of different sized rollers.  I bought 0.5mm roller and a 1.5mm stamp to try to treat my acne scars.  The only thing is, it is harder than anticipated to treat all the scars with the stamp, since I have uneven texture all over my face (shallow pin-prick scars).  The bigger scars are easier to stamp and the roller is probably not deep enough to fix the texture, so I was thinking of incorporating a 1.0mm and/or a 1.5mm roller into my routine.

I have only been needling for a month now, and use the 0.5mm twice a week and the 1.5 every 3 weeks.  If I got a 1.0mm roller, could I also use that every 10-14 days while still using the 0.5mm roller every 2 days, or it it really one or the other?  I am sorry if I am coming off as impatient, I know this takes time.  My concern is that I won't be able to stamp all the scars adequately, which is why I am looking into advice for a deeper roller.

As for the deeper scars, I have also read of some people using 1.5mm  roller with the 1.5mm stamp.  Would it help to roll with the 1.5mm before concentrating on certain areas with the stamp?  Not an intense roll, but just to make sure I don't miss any spots.  I like to stamp my whole face in one sessions.  I have though skin that does not react too bad.  So, doing a full face it not an issue for me.

Thanks for any suggestions.  My scars are mostly small pin-prick (don't know if considered true ice pick) and small boxcar.  Most are not that deep, they just bother me because they give my skin a rough texture because they are so abundant.

Looking forward to your advice so I can make a new order after the Holidays.  Thanks.
