NEWBIE to Needling. Need help with what to use!
« on: May 01, 2012, 02:24:15 AM »
Hi all,

Please have patience with me as I'm very new and got lost and confused with the information I was trying to look for.  I'm 28 years old and have stretch marks galore from the birth of my daughter.  I've had the scars on my stomach for 7 years now, and due to my weight gain during and after pregnancy, I now have stretch mars under my arms, ALL around my thighs and even some above my butt.  They all range in different sizes and shapes, but the ones that concern me the most are the craters I have on my stomach and inner thighs right where my pelvic bone is.

I currently have a .5mm roller but I've been using that on my face since I found out it would so nothing to my stretch marks.  Again, I know these answers are all over the forum but I got different answers in different ones and I'm so lost.

1. What roller should I use? The derma roller or the derma stamp?

2. What is the single needle stuff and how would I use that?

3. I see a lot of what you should and should not do to the skin afterwards but again, SO many different directions.

I have included some pictures of what my scars look like so far.  I hope none of them offend you :scared:

I just want to have the beautiful skin that I used to have.

I feel so incredibly ugly.

I think your stretch marks are quite mild. I certainly have seen much worse.

If you have time, use a 1.5 mm regular dermaroller + the single needles (laborious but very effective).

If you do not have much time, use a 1.5 mm regular dermaroller and a 1.5 mm ONE LINER dermaroller.

Roll the whole area, including the lost elasticity area, with the 1.5 mm regular roller and then single needle the stretch marks only:

On your arms, do not use the single needles, just roll it with the 1.5 mm roller because the skin on the arms is often much thinner than elsewhere and some of our customers got bruises while needling the arms.

What to expect:

How to do single needling:

Psychological aspects of stretch marks. Your case is very mild and this article is not about you but I post it here for the others:

What about the 1.5mm stamp?  Could I use that instead of the single needle?

Thank you for all the information.

If your stretch marks are wide then yes. If they are rather narrow, the single needle would be more suitable.

Ideally, buy both because you have stretch marks on many areas and you will certainly find use for both.
