Needling surgical white scar on forehead?

Hi Sarah,
 
  I have a surgical scar across my forehead that's about 2 years old.  Its a flat shiny white scar and I was wondering if single needling can help re-pigment the white scar.  I did try needling it once and it was red and still shiny looking.  If I continue to needle..will it improve?

There is currently no method that can remove surgical scars but you can manage to make the scar less visible and improve its texture and color.

Hi Sarah,
 Thanks for the reply!  So if I want to regain pigment on the scar tissue do I needle every 30 days or can I needle it more often?  I'm using the single needling method at the moment.  Right after needling I stay out in the sun to try and get some color on the scar.  Hope to hear from you soon!

Needle it deeply and densely once a month. In between, needle it shallowly every week (not inserting the full length of the needles).

Thanks for the response Sarah.  Also, my smooth shiny white scar does not scab when I needle it.  It bleeds but it just gets swollen and red for a day..but never scabs.  Is that okay? Am I still getting the full benefit?

It is not necessary to get scabs, neither is it unusual not to get them. The only important thing is that if you do get them, do not remove them forcefully because premature removal of a scab could leave a scar. Let them fall off naturally when they are "ready".
