Rolling above eyes
« on: February 20, 2013, 10:05:30 PM »
I have what I guess are called hooded eyes. The skin above my eye  that is not necessarily the skin of my eye lid actually covers the eye and begins to cover my eye lashes. Terrible I know. This skin is not very elastic, rather thin and droopy. Can rolling improve the collagen in this area? What type of technique should be used? frequency/depth/ointment? Also I'm smiling in that picture and that expresses my crows feet on the corners of my eyes, they are not very noticeable when not smiling. Would rolling help here? Thank you in advance, this seems like a great product.

Excessive/droopy skin above the eyes can be improved but dermaneedling can tighten the skin only to a certain extent (definitely not as much as in blepharoplasty during which the excessive skin is cut off).

The wrinkles and lost elasticity around the eyes can also be improved but dermaneedling around the eyes is a bit more complicated than elsewhere.

When you put your finger under or above your eye, you'll feel a bone. Do not dermaneedle closer to your eye than where that bone is (due to a risk of eyeball injury). When you dermaneedle around the eyes, pull/stretch your skin away from the eye with your other hand and roll/stamp it with the other.

Do not roll/needle inside the red area. Scroll down to my reply #2:

For the time being, I recommend you either our 0.5 mm dermastamp or a 0.5 mm narrow roller.

The roller is sold here:

https://http://shop.owndoc.com/product-list.php?owndoc-dermarollers-pg1-cid49.html

You stamp or roll the droopy skin by pulling them up, away from the eye with one hand and using the mcironeedling tool with the other hand.

When you become proficient in dermaneedling, you can go for a 1 mm dermastamp.

I also recommend you our Infadolan ointment. Some of our customers improved the lines around their eyes by applying a little Infadolan daily around the eyes. You can read about it here:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/infadolan-experience-thread/

Please look at our sticky forum postings.  Some of them were posted by our customers who improved the area around their eyes with microneedling.

Our forum member Luchitas who wrote about her experience here:

https://http://forums.owndoc.com/dermarolling-microneedling/results/

..recently wrote this in another thread:

"I would like to add that I found it easier and less painful to use a 0.5 stamp instead of  a roller around my eyes."

If you ask her on the forum, she may give you her recommendation.

My own experience:

I have managed to almost completely get rid of the wrinkles between my eyebrows (11's) and around my mouth with dermaneedling but not of the crows' feet. Somehow those wrinkles did not respond to treatment in my case. This seems to be very individual.

Thank you very very much Sarah! It's great to know that I will likely have some results with this while I save my money for the surgery!
