Hi there. I read raving reviews of your site and after much research, I have ordered about $200 worth of your products including multiple dermarollers, single needles, suction device and topicals. I have extremely bad acne scarring on my face. I have at least 50 scars of multiple depths and scar types. I am really excited and optimistic about the dermaroller and I want to use it as much as possible while still being safe. I have used a 2.5 dermaroller twice over the past few years (I've been lazy). I have seen results, but after reading that 2.5 is likely to hit subcutaneous tissue and cause further scarring, I discontinued its use and ordered your 2.0, 1.5, .5, .2, 2.0 dermastamp and single needles. My question pertains to using the dermarollers of varying lengths and how often to wait between treatment. Since I don't know of a short way to phrase this question, I have been unsuccessful in finding a direct answer online. Below is my treatment plan based on my research and common sense. I would love to get your opinion.
I will start with the 2.0 dermaroller everywhere except my forehead, and temples, where I will use a 1.5. Of course, I realize that with the 2.0 I need to wait 4-6 weeks between treatment (I intend to wait the full 6), but as I understand it, that is only between treatments for the 2.0. My plan is to wait 2 weeks after rolling with the 2.0 and then begin using the .2 3 times a week for one week (for product penetration). Then, after that, I will take another week off and only use topicals. After that, it will have been 4 weeks since treatment with 2.0. Beginning on the fourth week, I plan to use the .5 dermaroller once or twice in that week, and then the .2 once or twice in the final week (to pre-treat the skin with retin-a for the next serious session), then I will repeat the procedure, only this go around, I will use the single needles and dermastamp first, then wait 2 weeks, and follow the same regimen as above. I realize this may be a confusing explanation, but basically I just want to know if it is okay to use the smaller needle sizes in between the more aggressive treatments as long as I give a little break right after the initial rolling and right before starting the next treatment session. Any help or advise you can offer will be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
